REP PROGRAM BRINGS BACK TYKE SELECT
THe Ingersoll Express REP Program is pleased to announce the start up of the Tyke Select team for the 2013-2014 season. Leading the Tyke Select Express team this season will be Head Coach Rob Parsons.
The Tyke Select team will consist of players born in 2006 and 2007 who will be selected by a team of outside evaluators and by some of the REP Coaches from within the Association. Most of the players that make up this team will be registered in Novice and Tyke Local League, Novice REP players are ineligible to participate due to their commitment to the Novice REP team. OMHA considers 7 year olds (players born in 2006) to officially be Tyke age which is why they can play on a Tyke Select team.
This team will begin practicing together as a group after Thanksgiving. The Tyke Select team will generally practice or have a game once per week and will participate in 2 or 3 tournaments throughout the season. Players selected to this team will still participate on their rostered Local League teams and their Local League team commitments will be there first commitment. Care will be taken so that game and practice times do not overlap with local league games or practices. We estimate the cost to participate on this team to be $150 which will come with 18 to 20 hours of ice for games and practices. Tournament entry fees will be on top of this, the cost of which can be offset through fundraising efforts and collecting gate fees at home games. There will be NO Tryouts. Players will be selected from their Local League rosters by the evaluation committee and invited to participate.
