New Year In Burford
Thamesford Pizza started the new year facing off against Burford, on Burford's ice. A strong game was played by both teams.
This first game of the new year began with Ingersoll's Thamesford Pizza taking the lead within the first minute of play, as Craig Wild put the puck behind the Burford goalie with an unassisted missile into the back of the net.
Period two of this game brought Burford a tie score. Burford then went on to score three more times, taking the lead. Thamesford Pizza did manage to beat Burford once in that period as Tyler Debruyn found the back of the Burford net.
The game was punctuated with a full fifteen minutes in the third period, and Thamesford Pizza took this time to set up some great goals: Austin George received assistance from Jacob Branderhorst; then, with little more than two minutes left in the game, Branderhorst managed an unassisted game-tying goal.
When the buzzer sounded to end the third period, both teams were sitting at four goals, to bring a great game to a tie finish.
Thamesford Pizza will continue playing in this brave new year on January 15th, as they travel to Simcoe for a game at the Talbot Gardens Arena. The puck will drop at 6:00 PM. Come out and support this great team!
