Thamesford Pizza and Simcoe – Double Header
The first week of December found Ingersoll's Thamesford Pizza spending time with Simcoe's Bantam players.  Simcoe Bantams came to the home ice of Ingersoll Express while later in the week Simcoe would welcome Ingersoll to the Talbot Gardens.  Both games were filled with great challenges for the players, the coaches and the referees.

December 2nd, Thamesford Pizza welcomed Simcoe to a hard-hitting, fast-paced game which had the fans of both teams making lots of noise!

Connor Young-Craig was incredible in net as was the skill of his team mates playing around him.  Thamesford Pizza opened scoring in the first period when Kristopher Procter, placed in front of Simcoe's goalie, took a shot point blank which the goalie stopped.  Procter took the rebound and passed it to Anthony Ziraldo who put the puck to bed in the Simcoe net.

The second period found Thamesford Pizza continuing to score as Hayden Homewood received assistance from Justin Burns and beat the Simcoe goalie, putting Thamesford Pizza ahead with a two-nothing lead.

Simcoe put on a push and managed to score a goal, coming to within one point of Thamesford Pizza.  The home team would not stand still, however, and responded with a goal of their own.  They were able to hold this lead and bring this curfewed game to a close with Thamesford Pizza winning having three points, as Simcoe remained at one.

The drama of this great match-up continued on December 5th, when Thamesford Pizza travelled to Simcoe's Talbot Gardens.  This game did not suffer a curfew but was played out to its natural end.  Simcoe was once again held to one point throughout the game as Young-Craig continued his magic in front of the net.  Thamesford Pizza did not hold back against their opponents and during the second period, the scoring flood gates opened up.

Homewood started Thamesford Pizza's scoring rampage with an assist from Jacob Branderhorst.  Braedan McNeil beat Simcoe's goalie twice – once by himself, and once with assistance from Austin George.  Marcus Frizelle also scored two goals with help from George, as well as from Branderhorst and Homewood.

The scoring continued with more goals on the Simcoe net by Branderhorst who received assistance from McNeil and Tyler Debruyn.  The second last goal of the game was scored by Craig Wild, who had help from Michael Veale.  In the third period, Wild gave the puck to Procter, who poked it past Simcoe's goal line to score the final goal of the game.

The last buzzer brought Ingersoll to take home the win with a score of eight to one, concluding a week of great hockey by Ingersoll's Thamesford Pizza.

Thamesford Pizza is a team to watch as the 2013 year comes to a close, and 2014 starts as they face-off against more teams within the Bantam division.
