After a two-week hiatus, the BrokerLink Atom Rep team took to the ice for two exhibition games in preparation for their return to Southern County playoffs.
It was obvious that the kids were more than ready to get back to the game as they racked up two sweet victories in exhibition play this week. The Belmont Rangers came to town on Thursday and provided some tough competition for the Express. It was a great game with plenty of action at both ends, each team holding the other scoreless until midway through the 3rd, when Ingersoll finally found the back of the net. Final score 1-0 - great job Express!
This year the Atom Reps invited the London Jr Knights Atom AA White team as their guests for the Carmeuse Lime Invitational Tournament game, which took place Saturday evening. Everyone was excited to have the Jr Knights in town, and you could see that the Express squad was pumped for the game from the moment they stepped on the ice. Ingersoll jumped into an early 2-0 lead and never looked back. It was a great game of speed, perseverance and teamwork, which paid off on the scoreboard as the Express skated to a 6-2 victory over the Jr Knights. Goals and assists were shared among many of the players, demonstrating that a combined effort brings success. Awesome game Express!
Sunday the Atoms travel to Simcoe to resume Southern County playoff action. The Express then host Six Nations on Thursday @ 7pm, and Tillsonburg the following Thursday @ 7pm. Come out and cheer the team on to victory!
