After a long break over the Christmas Holidays, the Ingersoll Bantam LL C.E.P.U. team travelled to Six Nations on Saturday afternoon. This would be C.E.P.U.’s first game in almost a month and it showed with not much flow being generated by either team.

With the opening period of the game almost complete and playing 4 on 4, Brodie Warnock made a rush up the ice and after making a fine deke move on the goalie tucked the first goal of the game behind the Six Nations goaltender with 1:28 remaining.  That shot made Ingersoll 1 for 1 on shots to goals.  Just over 1 minute later Six Nations replied on the Powerplay when Owen Hill deflected a shot Nick Martin to get the equalizer before the end of the first frame.

The momentum swung to Six Nations after replying so quickly to tie the game and Josh Loranger made huge save after save to keep his team in the game.  Many of Loranger’s saves left the Six Nations Coaching Staff shaking their heads and wondering what it would take to get that little black piece of rubber by the Ingersoll Goalie.  They would not figure out the answer to that question.

Part way through the 2nd period after Loranger’s boost to the team, Brodie Warnock once again found his way to the front of the Six Nations net and on a very similar move, tucked home his 2nd goal of the game.  From then on Six Nations would continue to press and it wasn’t until 1:51 of the 3rd period when Austin George fired a shot to increase the Ingersoll lead to 3-1 and giving the team the lead that they needed to hold Six Nations off when the pulled their goalie to try and get the equalizer.  Assisting on the Ingersoll goals were Daniel Maloney (2), Zach Catry and Justin Koch.

For his shining performance, Josh Loranger was awarded the teams Player of the Game.

Ingersoll's next game is next Monday, January 14th at 8:00 PM when they play host to Waterford #2 at the Ingersoll Arena.
