NotesC.E.P.U Bantams Earn Tie With Late Comeback
The Ingersoll C.E.P.U. Local 3264 Bantams were in Port Dover for an early Saturday afternoon match with the hometown Pirates. Ingersoll entered the game with an undefeated season on the line and also with a short bench, missing some key firepower.
The Port team jumped into an early lead when Maison Shortt made a wonderful individual effort for a shorthanded goal, the only goal to be scored in the 1st period.
Dover would stretch their lead to 2 late in the 2nd period when they scored on a PP goal with Zach Catry off on a roughing penalty. With the 2 goal deficit and being badly out shot things did not look good for the Ingersoll Crew.
Things turned around in the 3rd period with a couple of momentum changing saves being made by the Ingersoll netminder, Josh Loranger. These saves gave some life to the team and shortly into the 3rd period Jared Campbell would slam home a rebound to get Ingersoll on the board and within 1. Assisting on Campbell's goal were Daniel Maloney and Johnathan Ager. As time was winding down and with their goaltender on the bench for an extra skater, Campbell would backhand home his second of the game with just 46 seconds left in the game. Assisting on this goal was Austin George and with that Ingersoll gained their 2nd tie of the season to remain undefeated at 6-0-2.
Ingersoll goes back on the road Sunday, November 25th, when they visit Waterford before returning home to host Simcoe on Monday, November 26th.
