NotesLoranger Nets First Shutout of Season
On Tuesday night, November 13, Josh Loranger earned his first shutout of the season, a well deserved effort over Tillsonburg #2.
Loranger after being spotted to a 2-0 Lead took over the game making save after save, shutting out the visitors from Tillsonburg. Late in the 3rd period with 2 players in the penalty box and facing a 5-3, Josh and his 3 defenders shutdown the offence of the T-Burg crew. After coming so close to shutouts in a couple of previous games to only give up late goals, Loranger put forward his best effort yet and got the job done. On a night where goals were difficult to come by the effort was just what his team needed.
Ingersoll led 1-0 after the first period on a late period goal when Noah Schonberger knocked home a rebound off a shot from Daniel Maloney. Also assisting on the goal was Zach Catry.
In the 2nd period after a number of chances were not converted, Daniel Maloney made a late period shorthanded rush and after beating the Tillsonburg Defence and going in all alone, made a great shot to beat the T-burg goalie high on the glove side. This goal was a large boost for the team as it came shorthanded and with only 12 seconds left in the period. This was all that Ingersoll would need to change the momentum and have a little breathing room heading into the 3rd. With the game in their control and playing solid defence the team was able to improve their season record to 6-0-1.
Ingersoll Bantam LL #1, C.E.P.U. 3264 plays next on Saturday morning at 8:00 am when the LL Bantam tournament takes place at the Ingersoll Arena.
