Ingersoll Bantam C.E.P.U. Continues to Find Ways to Win
In a penalty filled game which saw Ingersoll receive 13 minutes in penalties, solid defence and goaltending paved the way to another road victory for Ingersoll Bantam C.E.P.U. Local 3264 in Tillsonburg.
With Ingersoll dominating play in the first period Brody Warnock got Ingersoll on the board at the 6:39 mark with the assist going to Austin George. Just 4 minutes later on a nice pass from Jared Campbell, Noah Schonberger fired a hard wrist shot from the slot over the right shoulder of the Tillsonburg netminder Braydin Kilby to give Ingersoll team a 2-0 lead. That goal would prove to be the game winner.
From that point Ingersoll with the game in their control found their way to the penalty box 5 times. With Malcolm Rowe in the Sin Bin late in the 1st period, Tillsonburg managed to get one behind Josh Loranger when Brandon Kenney made a nice deke on a partial breakaway and slid one between Loranger's pads. Ingersoll spent much of the rest of the game effectively killing penalties and it was late in the 2nd period when Malcolm Rowe powered a shot from the top of the circle past the T-Burg goalie to give Ingersoll a little insurance going into the 3rd period.
With few chances due to Ingersoll's continuing strong penalty killing time eventually ran out for Tillsonburg #1 and Ingersoll moved their record to 5-0-1 for the season.
Ingersoll's next game is Tuesday night when they host the other T-Burg team at 8:00 pm.
