NotesCEPU Loses Lead
On Sunday, October 28, the Ingersoll Bantam LL CEPU Local 3264 lost a late game lead to the Norwich LL#1 team on the road.
Back on the road the Ingersoll Squad opened the scoring on a unassisted goal from Jared Campbell. While out playing the puck the Norwich goalie, Aric Pedly lost the puck to a pressuring Campbell who deposited in a gaping cage, just 2 minutes into the game. Before the end of the first Norwich would tie the game creating a see-saw battle between the two teams.
After a scoreless 2nd period, Brody Warnock game Ingersoll the lead on a pass from Johnathan Ager. When it looked like one goal would not be enough, Noah Schonberger with less than five minutes left to stretch the lead to 2. Schonberger's goal was assisted by Malcolm Rowe.
When it looked like the lead would hold up, Norwich pulled their goalie and pulled within 1 with 55 seconds left. After the faceoff Ingersoll found themselves on the defensive again trying desperately to get the puck out of their end. After a number of failed attempts the unthinkable happened when in a mad scramble Norwich slid a rebound past Josh Loranger with 14 seconds left and with that managed a tie at 3.
The Ingersoll team played well and deserved a better result. Their next opponent will be Burford next Saturday at 3:30 pm at the Burford Arena.
