Terrific Tournament
Louie's Pizza & Pasta Bantam Rep team rolled into Ridgetown for the Groundhog Tournament this past weekend.
The boys played a total of 5 games. In their first game, the team was up against Blenheim. It was a tight battle, ending with a 5-4 win for Ingersoll. Scoring for Ingersoll were: Tanner Moon, Daniel Rizzo (2), Jack Walters, and Colton Cameron. Assists went to:John Ryan, Walters, and Rizzo.
The second game was penalty filled for the boys as they played to a 5-0 win over West Lorne. Daniel Rizzo earned a hat trick, Devin Freeman, and Thomas Hogg added 1 goal each. John Ryan, Aaron Lonsbury, Freeman, Jack Walters, and Sam Tasker assisted.
In the final game on Saturday, the boys were up against Paris. Ingersoll was once again victorious with a 4-1 win. Rizzo earned another 2 goals, Walters added another, and Daniel Lindsay rounded out the goals. Devin Freeman, Sam Tasker, Cameron Maier, Daniel Lindsay, and Duncan Chevrier set up these goals.
Sunday morning saw the team versing Blenheim once again. Going into overtime, Rizzo scored to win the game 6-5. Other scorers for Ingersoll were: Sam Tasker, Jack Walters (2), Aaron Lonsbury and Rizzo. Assists: Chris Dimmers, Aaron Lonsbury, Daniel Rizzo, Devin Freeman, Parker Moon, Colton Cameron, and Sam Tasker.
In the final, Ingersoll met BCH. The game went into overtime with a 3-3 tie. Scoring for Ingersoll: Jack Walters, Devin Freeman, and Daniel Rizzo. Assists: Walters, Rizzo, Ryan. Eight seconds into the overtime, Rizzo scored to win the Championship.
