Ingersoll Canadian Tire Atom-LL Defeat Tillsonburg 2-1
Ingersoll Canadian Tire Atom-LL travelled to Tillsonburg for a rare Tuesday night game.

Both teams started out playing fast and hard with extreme checking along the boards and plenty of hard work by everyone.

Ingersoll drew a penalty only minutes into the match and the defense stepped it up,  Tillsonburg managed only two shots from the outside during the penalty kill.

Ingersoll’s Cam Dench had a good chance to score during the penalty kill as he picked up a loose puck and broke in on left wing his shot was well covered by their goalie with no chance for a rebound.
Tillsonburg’s goalie was tested again when Owen Longlade made his own breakaway and was once again stopped.

The second period action began with Ingersoll being trapped in their own zone and Ingersoll’s Megan Longlade had to make a great reaction save when the puck was deflected and changed direction right in front of the net.

Marisa Freeman had a good night at both ends of the ice as diligent back checking paid off when she caught her opponent after several attempts, then gained control of the puck, broke down the right wing took a wrist shot and sent a rising puck into the netting to open the scoring.
The wrist shots kept coming seconds later off the faceoff when Owen Longlade whizzed another wrist shot into the netting to put Ingersoll Canadian Tire Atom-LL up by two.
Ingersoll kept enjoying more chances when Mike Mersereau and Conner Kuhlman exhibited some of the best passing seen this year and their pretty give and go play almost ended up in the net.

Tillsonburg finally got on the score sheet early in the third period when Ingersoll could not clear the zone after a scramble in front of the net.
Play continued with fierce checking at both ends and as time dwindled down Tillsonburg pulled their goalie for an extra attacker but the defense held tough and Ingersoll came away with another hard earned victory.
