The Bigger They Are....You Know The Rest
The chant started as soon as coach Alexander opened the dressing room door and said let’s go, but coming around the corner, hitting the ice and seeing the Six Nation players and their size, the chant quickly turned into hockey business. The opening faceoff seen Six Nations take control of the puck go through all defenders and score on Jeremy, who honestly was just settling in, and he wasn’t the only one. We in the stands barely got comfy, seeing this I’m sure we all thought to ourselves… Here we go, poor guys are in for a tough game.

However that was the first minute and when action resumed again we took over and let our speed, fore checking and hard work pay off quickly as we tied the score 1-1 barely 5 minutes in. Back and forth we went  us scoring on them, them scoring on us, but neither one wanting to give up the puck in fear the momentum would shift. The “kid Line” which was made up of Cohen, Jax and Rhylan, were skating hard from the get go, clicking with passes, taking shots but most of all causing Six Nations confusion and frustration forcing them to give up the puck and we scored to make it  4-3 early in the third and we never looked back, adding another to make it 5-3 which turned out to be the final score.

Jeremy faced the most shots he’s seen so far this season and got stronger and more confident as the game went on shutting the door a number of times making the opposing coaches shake their heads in disbelief. Benham had a very solid game on defense breaking up play after play and even chipping in with a goal of his own.  It was a total team effort though, and everyone should be named in this article. It was clearly the most exciting game yet. Most of all and I think we can all agree it was definitely a confidence booster for our guys, holding their heads up high, knowing… They tamed the giant!!!

Next up… Simcoe-Friday, Nov16. At home.
