Verspeeten's Rock'em Sock'em In Tillsonburg
Verspeeten Cartage Peewees were on the ice again last week, facing Tillsonburg at the Lions Den. This game was marked by hard play on both teams - collisions, body-checks, and generally rock-em sock-em hockey!

Verspeeten took the first period, with forwards working the Tillsonburg goalie, while Tillsonburg put Verspeeten’s goalie, Brody Carbaugh to work, making him perform his magic in net.

While Verspeeten was ahead for a lot of the game, and Tillsonburg were at one point down to a two-man disadvantage, Verspeeten couldn’t seem to pull a win out of this match-up. They did, however, keep the game honest, as it ended in a tie score of 3 for each team.

Scoring for Verspeeten Cartage was Jacob Branderhorst, while Kristopher Procter put in the second goal, with assistance from Hailey Wright. The final goal was poked into the Tillsonburg net by Jack Van Egdom, who carried the puck unstoppably from one end of the ice to the other and put it past the waiting Tillsonburg goalie.

This game, was, in the opinion or yours truly, the very best game Verspeeten Cartage has played all season. The spectators were on their feet and cheering throughout three periods, in hopes the team will once again deliver this professional-level of hockey to their fans, and most importantly to themselves.

The next opportunity for Verspeeten Cartage to shine is January 14th, 2013, as they welcome Waterford to the Ingersoll Express home ice.
