Verspeeten
Cartage played their final two games of 2012 recently, when they
traveled to Tillsonburg on December 14th and on the 15th went to
Langton.
Verspeeten played hard in both of those games, with awesome team-play, featuring excellent passing and assists which led to some great goals. While playing against Langton, the game was tied up, and with less than one second left on the clock, Langton scored to take the win. The heartbreak of this millisecond goal was felt throughout the team.
Goals for Verspeeten Cartage were scored by Jacob Branderhorst, Brandon Seed, Nolan Costa, and Ethan Vlemmix; with assists from Vlemmix, Kristopher Procter, Paul Shearer, Graydon MacDonald and Aidan Berto.
Beyond these final two games of the year, was the chance to watch some OHL hockey, during Ingersoll Day at the London Knights. The game itself was preceded by a chance to high-five the Knights in High-Five Alley. Verspeeten Cartage players on hand in High-Five Alley were Aiden Berto, Kristopher Procter, and Brody Carbaugh, who high-fived the Knights as they went on the ice for their pre-game warm-up.
The Knights put on quite a show for their fans as they continued their winning streak by taking the game against Kingston in overtime.
2013 will bring many adventures to Verspeeten Cartage. The entire team and their fans are looking forward to the new year with great anticipation, as new games and new tournaments await.
