Your Ingersoll Tirecraft Atom LL hockey team returned home Saturday March 17th from the 53rd Annual Mildmay tournament as Consolation Champions. Just as the team persevered through the dense fog to get to Mildmay, team Tirecraft were not coming home empty-handed.
Tirecraft played
their first game against Hanover early which meant the team had to travel
through the thick fog to get to the Walkerton area. Team Tirecraft battled hard against Hanover,
but would lose 4-3. Camden McDougall
recorded a hat-trick with assists going to Ethan Laporte, Shaun Holt, and Brent
Fewster. Receiving an award for player
of the game was Camden McDougall.
The second
game of the tournament, Ingersoll would face-off against the home team,
Mildmay. Ingersoll beat the host team
8-0 with an awesome display of both offence and defence. David Timleck and Camden McDougall both
scored hat-tricks. Ryan Bruschetto and
AP call up Owen Longlade also scored.
Assists were credited to Collin Dench (2), Devon Dell, Will Jones and
Symon Hucheson. Goaltenter Megan
Longlade earned the shutout and also picked up an assist. Receiving an award for player of the game was
David Timleck.
Ingersoll
qualified for the consolation championship to face Tiverton. Tirecraft would have to play 15 minutes after
their last game, but were up for the challenge.
Tiverton got on the board `early in the first to take a 1-0 lead. With time winding down in the first period,
Collin Dench fired a wrist shot into the net to even the score. Assisting on the goal was Colin Van Dyk and
Will Jones. Goaltender Megan Longlade
played great for Tirecraft making several great saves. Midway through the third period, Camden
McDougall scored the eventual winner with assists going to Owen Longlade and
Symon Hucheson. Final score Ingersoll 2
