CAW Local 88 Midget Reps finish strong
The CAW Local 88 Midget Rep team finished the last week of the regular season with 3 wins and a tie to complete a succesful season at 10 wins 5 losses and 5 ties, good enough for a 5th place finish in the 20 team Southern Counties Midget Division. The Express defeated Simcoe 3-1 and Delhi 3-2 early in the week and then tied Twin Centre 3-3 and routed Aylmer 9-2 on the weekend.

Alex Defent, Jesse Shelton and Michael Nutt all scored against Simcoe to give Randy Weatherhead a well deserved win in net.
Against Delhi Austin Kielt opened the scoring in the second period to put Ingersoll up 1-0. Delhi responded with two early third period goals to take the lead. A major penalty was assessed to a Delhi player for kicking with just over five minutes remaining in the game and Ingersoll took full advantage of the powerplay as Michael Nutt scored at the four minute mark and then set up Kielt for the game winner with two minutes left on the clock. Randy Weatherhead picked up the win stopping 19 of 21 shots.
Alex Defent notched his second goal of the game late in the third period to give Local 88 a tie with Twin Centre. Jesse Shelton scored on a break away and Jordan Travis and Derek Tonin both had two assists. Blake Telfer was solid in net as he finished the regular season with a very respectable 2.04 goals against average.
In the final regular season game Ingersoll played an Aylmer team that dressed only 9 skaters due to suspensions and the Express skated to an easy victory. Michael Nutt led the way with five points notching two goals and three assists. Graham Hall and Derek Tonin both scored twice and Jacob Parkhill, Alex Defent and Jordan Travis added singles. Brett Dzyngel had a great defensive game chipping in with two assists. Weatherhead once again got the win finishing the season with a 2.44 goals against average.
The team now opens up a six point OMHA playdown series against Port Colborne.
