Delhi Hosts McNiven Insurance Atom Rep
The Ingersoll Express Atom Rep team McNiven Insurance went to Delhi to play a contact level game of hockey in a non contact league.
Let me start by saying Delhi had 16 minutes of penalties compared to our 8 which 2 minutes of ours were assigned when our player was carrying the puck. Cudos to the Express for showing some restraint and not turning this into a bigger gong show than it already was. Delhi should have had 2 hitting from behind game calls on top of the 16 minutes of penalties they already had. Now back to the game.....
The score remained 0-0 till the second period. On the power play, the Express showed great team work cycling the puck from Riley Ellis to Clayton Hammond to Alex Foster then to Keegan Clark on defense and then to Max Shelton. Max took a shot which Riley Ellis grabbed the rebound and gave it to Alex Foster who scored the first goal of the game. With just 2 minutes left in the second, Justin Holmes let a nice shot go to score the second goal, again assisted by Riley Ellis.
Delhi snuck one in the third to make it 2-1. Soon after, Clayton Hammond fired one 5 hole assisted by Keegan Clark, 3-1 Express. To finish it off Daniel Martineau moved the puck from our zone to Riley Ellis scored finishing it off, 4-1 Express. Great job to Jayden Purdy in net. Also, way to stand your ground on defense, Max Shelton, Matt Berzins, Daniel Martineau, Ethan Emerson and Dayton Racicot.
One goal, 16 penalty minutes with 2 missed game misconducts, need I say more.
