'Your Financial Partners' Showing True Grit!
On Thursday February 24th, ‘Your Financial Partners’ Peewee Reps played a Southern Counties round robin matchup versus a feisty team from Six Nations.

The Express not having much game action in the last couple of weeks needed a period to shake the rust off there skates. Being down a goal going into the 2nd period the Express got on the scoreboard at the 9:12 mark when Jack Walters rushing down the left side made a nice pass to Duncan Chevrier who neatly deflected the puck off his backhand into the mesh. This fired the Express up and it showed with some strong forechecking and smart play on the defensive end thru the rest of the game. A gritty Six Nation team was met equally to the challenge by the rolling Express train.

The Express finally pulled ahead at the 3:07 mark of the 2nd period when a Parker Moon shot from the point found its way thru a crowd to the net, and then rebounding to a well positioned Daniel Lindsay who made no mistake burying it passed a sprawling keeper. 2-1 Express! A penalty filled 3rd period, lots of back and forth play, mixed in with some ‘polite’ bodychecking seemed to take an eternity to play. A patient Express team finally capitalized on a 3rd goal when Daniel Rizzo walked thru a crowd, on a partial breakaway, sniping one passed the Six Nations keeper. The game finished in favor of the Express winning 3-1!

On Sunday February 27th, the Express train rolled into Simcoe to face the Warriors for an early afternoon tilt. The first period came and went with both teams exchanging some good scoring chances but they were both denied by some strong goal keeping. The 2nd period started off well for the Express when Max Racicot scored by muscling in a 2nd shot attempt in front of a crowded Simcoe keeper. 1-0 Express! Then just over a minute later a Simcoe power play resulted in a goal, tieing it up at one a piece. The score was even until the 2:03 mark of the second period, when Chevrier blasted a wrister from the bottom of right circle producing an Ingersoll lead. The Express were playing well until the midpoint of the period until a chain reaction of bad penalties (5 on 3) lead Simcoe to tieing up the game and then a perceived whistled down play somehow ended up being a goal. To the Express misfortune they were now down 3-2. Not giving up, a Parker Moon shot on net was picked up by Racicot, tucking it behind the goalie for his second of the game. It was 3-3 with a little over 5 minutes left to play when a Simcoe defender decided to go for a skate, surprising a flat footed Express team, scoring the go ahead goal. The Express fought hard, but it wasn’t enough as they were defeated on this day 4-3. An honorable mention should go to the Express keeper ‘Brady Harris’who made some outstanding saves in this game to keep the team within striking distance.
