Express lose close one to Simcoe
The Searles Motor Products Ingersoll Express travelled to Simcoe on Sunday, November 21, to face the Simcoe Novice Rep.  Ethan Emerson quickly got Ingersoll on the board, putting one past the Simcoe goaltender at the 4:28 mark of the first period.  Simcoe stormed back though, and managed to score 2 in the period to lead 2-1 at the end of the first.

In the second period, Simcoe continued to press, and just :56 in led 3-1.  Ingersoll held them off the rest of the period, and went into the third down 3-1, not at all insurmountable.  Less than 2 minutes in to the third however, Simcoe scored again, and the hole that the Express were in seemed to be getting deeper.  However, Emerson was able to get his second of the night just a minute later, closing the gap to 4-2, and giving Ingersoll a little life.

Just one minute later though, Simcoe was able to add a fifth tally to the board.  The Ingersoll kids did not give up though, and continued to press.  At the 6:43 mark, Brennan Rupert scored a one-timer on a great feed from Emerson, and a few minutes later Emerson was able to cap off the hat-trick with his third of the afternoon.  With the team down by one and pressing, Gabe Robinson was brought to the bench for the extra attacker, Ingersoll hoping to get the tying marker.  The kids played well, but were unable to solve the Simcoe goaltender one more time, and the score ended with Simcoe winning 5-4.

Assisting for Ingersoll were Rupert (2), Daniel Martineau, Emerson, and Parker Hodgson.

Ingersoll next faces action this weekend, November 27 & 28, at a tournament in Port Colborne.  Next Southern Counties action is Tuesday, November 30 at 6:00 pm in Delhi.
