It Was Hard to Know Where to Look!
On a chilly morning, we gather once again on our home ice in Ingersoll, playing against Belmont.  The game got off to a great start with our Dairy Queen tykes dominating the play for most of the game.  It must have been all the excitement on the bench that got the boys excited!  While glancing over to the bench it was hard to miss Coach Paul looking so lovely in a pretty dress.  The royal blue looked stunning on you Coach Paul!

With all this excitement happening, it was hard to know where to look - the bench or on the ice.  Our Dairy Queen boys were skating like a professional team out there!  In the first five minutes, Ethan M and Alex S were ready to show Belmont how this game was going to go with Ethan putting the pressure on getting off some amazing shots on net, and Alex scoring his first goal of the game, assisted by Braeden W.  Alex then got another goal, assisted by Matthew D.  With all of his trying Ethan was able to sink one into the net totally unassisted.  With fifteen minutes left on the clock Alex S got another goal, making that a hat-trick for Alex!  With the score of the game 4-3 for Ingersoll coming into the last 10 minutes, Ben B found the puck and got a goal to put us ahead.  Belmont answered that goal with one more for their side showing us that they were still in the game.  But Ben W sunk our last goal of the game with 25 second remaining to put us up by 2!  Final score 6-4 for Ingersoll Dairy Queen!  Caleb C did a great job in net with a supportive defencive team infront of him and add to that a forcefull team of forwards this was a total T-E-A-M effort!

Something does need to be said about the dedication that our very own Coach Paul has shown to the Dairy Queen Tyke team.  It is not everyday that you see a coach on the bench dressed up in his finest dress.  But Coach made a promise to our team that if they won their second game in the Tillsonburg Tournament, he would wear a dress to this weeks game.  And since the team came through with a win, Coach Paul came through on his promise too!  The look on all of the boys faces in the changeroom as they saw Coach prepping for the game was absolutley priceless!  Now that shows TEAM effort at it's best!
