Express Put Twist on Tornadoes!!
The Oxford Chiropractic Atom Reps have had a busy 2 weeks with a total of 9 games in 10 days. It was an up and down stretch of hockey play, posting a 2 win 7 loss record. Lack of consistency for a full 3 periods has been the teams downfall, but hopefully that is behind them now after there most recent outing.

On December the 6th, the Express travelled to Tillsonburg to play on there big ice. A tired Ingersoll team who just played 3 games the previous day in a tournament in Tavistock, took the ice and it was evident that the schedule was catching up with them. Tillsonburg displayed why they are amongst the top in Southern Counties league play with a convincing 6-0 win over our Express. Ingersoll took the next 3 days off to recoup and gear up for there next encounter with the Tornadoes.

On December the 10th, the home and home series versus Tillsonburg came to Ingersoll, whom, the Express were ready to avenge there last outing. The plan was to limit the high quality scoring chances by tieing up those passing lanes that they took advantage of us on in Tillsonburg.

In the first period, surprisingly, in the first minute of play Tanner Moon broke thru the Tillonburg defense and made no mistake going ‘upstairs’ on a out of positioned goalie. 1-0 Express. The rest of the period was a defensive effort on both ends where both goalies showed they were playing there A game.

Going into the second period with the lead, the defensive crew of Colin Weller-Burgess, Jack Van Egdom, Nathan Brushetto, Nick Likins, and Sam Tasker kept the T,burg attack under control putting forth a tremendous effort. At 1:08 of the second period, Ingersoll got on the board again with a scramble in front of the Tillsonburg keeper, who couldn’t keep a determined Tyler Goyette from poking it by him. Assists on the play went to Sommer Lednicky and Gage Langille. 2-0 Express. Finally, with 5 seconds left in the period, a frustrated Tillsonburg team slipped one by the Express line.

The 3rd period came and went with exciting back and forth play, and with 4:53 left, Collin Weller-Burgess on a broken play, rushed into the offensive attack with a shot, deflecting off a defender passed the Tillsonburg net minder. 3-1 Express. Ingersolls’ keeper, Noah Robinson, made a final stand with a stop on an excellent rap around attempt by the Tillsonburg attack. The game finally ended with an impressive 3-1 win for the Express. Great job team and coaching staff. Ingersoll’s next home game is Thursday, December 17th versus Simcoe. Come on out and enjoy some good holiday hockey!
