Jan 18 , 2009 . Ingersoll Express Vanbeeks vs Wateeford # 2
On Sunday Jan 18 Ingersoll Express Vanbeeks travelled to Waterford for a return match with Waterford .Waterford playing stronger in front of their home crowd gave the Red Express a battle as both Josh Adams from Ingersoll and his counterpart from Waterford kept shooters shaking their heads .
As the game progressed after a scoreless first period Ingersoll seemed determined to keep their winning streak going with a goal from Robert Brown assisted by Julian Gillespie – Wilson and Zach Catry. In the third period with Ingersoll playing great position and the boys seemed determined to add to their goal total but the Waterford goalie kept them at bay . The last 3 minutes were very intense as Waterford tried to even the score but the Ingersoll boys dug in their heels as good defence from goalie Adams and his defence and back checking forwards built the RED wall to stop any Waterford scoring chances . As the final seconds ticked off coaches and players rejoiced as they added another W in the win column , and the season’s first shutout , a side note the slushie award appeared but more than one player commented the slushies are better in Ingersoll but coaches and parents noticed no cup was left with any contents in them . As the boys in red wait to display their game talents next Friday at home at 6.00 pm against Tillsonburg # 2 .
