BUTTERWORTH ESSO PEEWEE LL TEAM DROPS TWO GAMES ON THE WEEKEND
The Butterworths Esso peewee LL team travelled to Burford on Jan. 17 for an afternoon game. This game was a close one from the drop of the puck remaining scoreless until late in the second period when Burford finally got one past Butterworth's goalie. Butterworths came out and played a strong thid period trying to get tying goal but it wasn't to be as Butterworths came away with a 2-0 loss.
On Sunday Jan.18 Butterworth hosted Waterford team#2 for an evening contest. Both teams came out skating hard with some good hits from both teams. Butterworths swarmed the Waterford net for most of the first period coming away tied at the end of the first. Butterworths took a 2-1 lead into the third period but surrendered four goals in the third period and despite a valiant late third period rally in which they scored one goal with many other good scoring chances they came out on the short end of a 5-3 loss. Butterworths goals were scored by Edward O'Dea from Brandon DeBruyne, Coulton Cameron from Brady Soetermans and by Charlie Does from Jack Skillings.
