Bantam Boys Tie Paris, Lose to Twin Centres in Southern Counties Playoff Action
On February 12th the Louie’s Pizza and Pasta Bantam Rep team travelled

to Paris to do battle with the Wolfpack. A strong performance by the Paris goaltender held Ingersoll to a single goal, but it was a beauty. Brennan Rupert was able to dipsy-doodle his way through several of the Wolfpack players, then slide a perfect pass over to a wide open Dayton Racicot who roofed it stick side with authority. Ben White earned an assist on the play. With the game tied 1-1 in the third, Nathan Graham made a nice rush, got a shot away, and almost succeeded in poking the loose puck through the goaltender’s legs. With an Ingersoll player in the box serving a double minor late in the game, the Stars hit the post. With a minute remaining there was a pile up in the Ingersoll crease and Logan White was sent sprawling into the net. Luckily the Express puck stopper was not seriously hurt, and was able to finish the game, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Two days later the Express train trundled north, hoping to steamroll the Stars, seeking retribution for a heartbreaking overtime loss to Twin Centres in the semi-final of the International Silver Stick tournament earlier this season. As they had been in Paris 48 hours prior, the bantam boys were stymied by stellar goaltending. Ingersoll forwards Ben White, Dayton Racicot, Joel Verspeeten and Isaac Westlake had numerous chances in close, but only Parker Hodgson was able to put one behind the Stars net minder, banging home a loose puck after a Nathan Graham shot from the point. Despite facing an extra attacker when Logan White was pulled during the last minute of play, Twin Centres held on to defeat the Express 2 to 1. Ingersoll will play host to the Stars on March 7th, mark your calendars and come out to cheer our boys on!
