Bantam Boys Coast to 2 – 0 Victory Over Tavistock
The
Ingersoll Express Bantam rep team recorded its 30th win of the
season on Tuesday night as they hosted the Tavistock Titans.
After an uneventful first period, Parker Hodgson opened the scoring three minutes into the second, taking a pass from Ben White and moving across the goal mouth until the Titan goaltender was out of position, allowing number 14 to calmly deposit the puck into the wide open net. Ingersoll failed to capitalize on its second power play of the game, clinging to a slim one goal lead as the puck dropped to begin the third period. With a burst of speed defenseman Brennan Rupert skated end to end but was unable to put the puck in the net. Ingersoll goalie Logan White came up big on a partial breakaway. Later in the period, Aiden Berto’s shot from the point got through, putting Ingersoll ahead 2 – 0 and providing the Express with a bit of breathing room. Tavistock pulled their goaltender in a desperate bid to break the shutout in the final minutes, but the Express were able to hold them off.
