Solid Team PLay Rewarded with Victory
The Ingersoll Carmeuse Lime & Stone, Peewee #3 team went on the road Saturday to take on Intertown Rivals, Norwich.
In a one sided affair the Ingersoll team dominated in endzone play with much of the game being played in the Norwich end of the ice. Logan Warboys was solid for Norwich in goal, as time after time he denied the attacking Ingersoll forwards. After 2 periods of play, Ingersoll had nothing to show on the scoreboard and both teams entered the 3rd period tied at 0-0.
59 seconds into the 3rd period Tanner Tuttle fired a wristshot that eluded Ingersoll netminder Brady Harris. Earlier in the game Harris had stoned Tuttle on a clear breakaway keeping the game knotted at 0 heading to the 3rd.
8 seconds after Tuttle gave Norwich the lead, Adam DeBruyn replied for Ingersoll when he took the center-ice faceoff direct to the net and made a great deek to pull Ingersoll even. On his next shift DeBruyn again made a strong move to the net, but was denied by Warboys. The ensuing rebound was left in the open for a streaking Johnathan Agers, who with his quickness to the net was rewarded as he tucked away the eventual game winner. DeBruyn was given the assist on the winning goal.
The Ingersoll defense played a strong game preserving the victory for Brady Harris who did not see a lot of work, but made timely key saves when he was called upon.
Nick Dimmers, Brady Soetemans, Warren McSwiggan and Malcolm Rowe all turned in a solid game from the blueline both offensively and defensively. Noah Schonberger, Kevin Cox, Jack Skillings and John Ryan were relentless in the Norwich end of the ice for the whole game and generated numerous scoring chances throughout the game.
For his solid Defensive, Offensive and Smart Decision Play making, Malcolm Rowe was awarded Carmeuse Hustler of the Game.
