Skillings Inspires Team to Victory
Tuesday night the Norwich Peewee Local League team was in town to take on the Ingersoll Peewee #3 LL Carmeuse Lime and Stone team.
Norwich was out for revenge after the Ingersoll squeaked out a 2-1 victory on January 9th. It only took Norwich 24 seconds to open the scoring when Brandon Gushue jumped on a rebound in front of a sprawled out Kenny Moodie, in net for Ingersoll, sliding it into the open cage. The goal was assisted by Jolon Rietveld and Tanner Tuttle.
Ingersoll would tie the game later in the first when Jared Campbell fed a pass to Jack Skillings who fired a hard wristshot into the Norwich net while falling in a Bobby Orr like fashion. The effort on the Skillings goal inspired the rest of the team and from that point they took the lead in the 2nd period on a hard shot from Nick Dimmers before scoring 3 more times in the 3rd to put the game away.
Scoring in the 3rd were John Ryan on a breakaway and Adam DeBruyn tallied twice both assisted by Jared Campbell (3), while Kevin Cox assisted on the Ryan Goal.
For his highlight reel goal Skillings was awarded Hustler of the Game.
