Solid Defense in Ingersoll
On a night that only saw each team (Ingersoll Peewee #3 - Carmeuse Lime and Stone and Six Nations) net 1 goal each, both teams played a solid defensive game and the goalies played stellar on a number of occasions on both sides to allow their respective teams to escape with a draw.
Scoring opened in the 2nd period when Josh Henhawk fired a shot toward the Ingersoll net that was deflected in front allowing it to elude goaltender Kenny Moodie. Moodie would go on to stop all remaining shots he would face including a breakaway midway through the 2nd frame.
The breakaway stop by Moodie gave the Ingersoll squad a lift and with 3:17 left in the period Johnathan Ager would tuck away a lose puck in the crease following a John Ryan shot.
Both teams would trade chances through the rest of the game, but on this night the bounces would only favor the goaltenders.
Noah Schonberger was awarded the player of the game as he created a number of great chances down the stretch and drew a key penalty to allow Ingersoll to gain momentum leading up to the tying goal.
