Tricenturena - Waterford
Christmas Came Early
On the last Friday night before the Christmas break Ingersoll #3, Carmeuse Lime and Stone was on the road in Waterford to take on the Waterford #2 Wildcats.
Ingersoll took an early lead in the 1st period on a goal from Johnathan Agers when he made a nifty move in front of the net to fake out goalie Hannah Haviland. The goal was assisted by John Ryan and Adam DeBruyn. Waterford would draw even before the end of the period on a goal from Tyler Sowden with assists to Cody Desroche and Cassidy Henry.
Ingersoll played a strong 2nd period and were rewarded with 2 goals for their efforts to take a 2 goal lead to the 3rd. The first goal came off the stick of Malcolm Rowe with assists to Brady Soetemans and Jack Skillings. The 2nd goal and eventual game winner came off a great pass again from Skillings to Jared Campbell who would wait while the sprawling goalie went down before he deposited a hard wrist shot to the top of the net.
Waterford would make things close late in the 3rd when Conar MacKenzie scored with 1 minute left after Ingersoll struggled to get the puck out of their own end. With a few tense moments in that last minute Brady Harris came through to preserve the early Christmas gift for the coaches with another win to end the first half of the season.
Johnathan Agers was awarded player of the game after scoring his 2nd goal in the last 3 games.
