Coming off an inspiring victory Friday night the Carmeuse Lime and Stone Peewee LL team headed South Saturday morning to face top ranked Langton.
After an earlier meeting this year which saw the Langton team skate to an easy 11-1 victory Carmeuse would prove to be a much different opponent for this game.
Langton's Brad Dedecker would score on a nice individual effort to open the scoring early in the 1st. Carmeuse rallied back with a goal of their own from Adam DeBruyn (extending his scoring streak to 3 games) with assists from Brady Soetemans and Jared Campbell. Langton regained the lead at the 2:11 mark on a goal from Justin Aker when he batted home a loose puck in front of Brady Harris.
40 seconds into the 2nd Jared Campbell would restore the tie on a goal mouth scramble and DeBruyn chipped in with the assist. Langton knew at that point this was a different Ingersoll team than the previous one sided affair. The teams traded many chances before Langton would power their way to 4 unanswered goals. Ashley Money, Michael Chanyi, Jordan Spitzke and Curtis Dedecker all found the back of the goal before Nick Dimmers replied with a nice individual effort to cut the gap to 6-3. Spitzke would add his 2nd of the game with 36 seconds left to complete the scoring.
Although Brady Harris allowed 7 goals he played a strong game and was once again named Hustler of the Game.
